📅 Today Panel

The “Today” to-do panel that sits beside your Gantt chart — focus on what matters most today and see at a glance what to do next.

📌 What is the Today panel

Open Obsidian each day and the side panel lists everything you should be doing today — tasks due by today, tasks already overdue and tasks in progress. Nothing slips through.

The Today panel is the right-hand panel of the Gantt chart and shares the same view area. Open the Gantt chart and the daily to-do list appears on the right automatically.

📋 Today's to-do list

The panel collects three kinds of task automatically:

CategoryWhat it meansMarker
📅 Due todayTasks whose due date is todayBlue marker
📅 OverdueTasks that are past their due dateRed marker
🔄 In progressTasks currently being worked onGreen marker
💡 Tip: The Today panel needs no setup — it appears as soon as you open the Gantt chart. Due dates and statuses are read straight from your notes.

⏰ Postponing overdue tasks

For a task that is already overdue, you can push its due date to today in a couple of clicks:

1
Find the overdue task

Locate the task in the “Overdue” group of the Today panel.

2
Click the postpone button

Click the “⏰” button on the right of the task and choose tomorrow or a specific date.

3
Confirm the change

The plugin updates the due date in your note and the task moves from “Overdue” to “Due today”.

🔍 Filtering

When several people share the same vault, you can look at just your own work:

Only my tasks

1
Click the “Only my tasks” filter

Find the filter button at the top of the panel and click “Only my tasks”.

2
Show only your own tasks

The board filters itself and shows only tasks tagged #role/mine.

Only ones I raised

Click the “Only ones I raised” filter to show only tasks tagged #src/mine — the tasks you created yourself.

🔄 Kanban mode

Switch today's to-dos to a kanban view, laid out in columns by task status — as clear as Trello.

1
Click the kanban toggle

Find the kanban/list toggle at the top of the panel (the 📋 icon).

2
Switch to kanban mode

Today's to-dos move from list mode to kanban mode, showing cards in columns by status.

💡 Tip: In kanban mode you can drag cards to change a task's status, and everything stays in sync with the Gantt chart in real time.

📂 Parent task display

Sub-tasks in the Today panel show their parent task (marked with 📂), so you always know where a task belongs.

↔️ Panel width

The Today panel width can be dragged to fit:

1
Find the divider

Hover over the divider between the Gantt chart and the Today panel; the cursor turns into a two-way arrow.

2
Drag to resize

Hold the left mouse button and drag left or right to resize the panel.
