πŸ—‚οΈ Project view

Move up from single tasks to the whole project. Every project gets its own analytics panel, so you always know where things stand.

πŸ“Œ Detecting a project

The plugin detects a project from the type: project field in a note's frontmatter. A project is just a folder of notes β€” every task inside that folder is grouped into the project automatically.

How to create a project

1
Create the project index note

Create a new note in Obsidian (for example README.md) and put it at the root of the project folder.

2
Add the project metadata

Add type: project and your project details to the note's frontmatter:

Example frontmatter:
type: project
projectName: IT System Upgrade
status: In Progress
owner: Jane Doe

πŸ“Š Project stats

The project view aggregates the task data behind the selected project β€” completion rate, task counts per status, hour totals and more.

How to view project stats

1
Open the Gantt chart

Open the Task Nexus Gantt panel from the Obsidian sidebar.

2
Switch to project view

Click the "πŸ—‚οΈ Project" button in the toolbar to switch to project view.

3
Pick your project

Click a project in the list β€” its stats panel appears on the right automatically.

What the stats panel shows

πŸ‘₯ Workload analysis

See how work is distributed across the people on the project, so you can spot an overloaded teammate before it becomes a problem.

How to view workload

1
Open project view

Switch the Gantt panel to project view.

2
Find the workload area

Look below the project stats panel for the Workload section. Each person shows:

πŸ’‘ Tip: workload figures are calculated automatically from the #role/mine and #src/me tags in your notes β€” there is nothing to fill in by hand.

βš™οΈ Column configuration

Table columns in the project view are configurable: choose which columns to show and rearrange their order.

1
Right-click the table header

Right-click the header of the project view table to open the column menu.

2
Choose the columns you need

Tick or untick columns such as Owner, Priority, Due date and Actual hours.
